Impacts

The small size and low-lying nature of the Maldivian islands make the island nation system highly exposed and sensitive to climate change impacts. Climate change can have a catastrophic impact on the island resulting in erosion, destruction of infrastructure and coral reef damage, affecting human health, food security and water resources.
